Australia's Solar Cover $200 Rebate

Australia is doing the right thing to save water and energy!

Swimming pool covers and/or rollers

Rebate available: up to $200 towards purchase and installation

$200 Rebate...

An average swimming pool can lose more than 4000 litres of water a month through evaporation. By installing a pool cover, you can reduce evaporation and save precious water.

What does the rebate cover?

A rebate of up to $200 per household is available for the purchase and installation of one of the following:

  • a swimming pool cover
  • a swimming pool roller
  • a swimming pool cover and roller

Requirements for claiming a rebate

To attract the rebate, the pool cover must:

  • have a minimum surface area of 25 square metres
  • have a minimum material thickness of 400 microns (0.4mm)
  • be endorsed under the Smart Approved Watermark Scheme and have a minimum 5-year warranty

Scheme at http://www.wsaa.asn.au/smartwatermark/smartabout.htm. Maximum rebates for swimming pool covers and/or rollers. You can claim a rebate from the Home WaterWise Rebate Scheme as well as any rebate offered by your local council.

However, the total rebate received from both sources, will not exceed 80 per cent of the total cost.

Advantages of installing a swimming pool cover roller

The advantages are:

  • it makes covering and uncovering the pool easier
  • it is more likely that the pool owner will use the cover most of the time
    • and thus reduce evaporation losses from the pool
  • it ensures water on top of the cover flows into the pool during removal of the cover
